Parsons, Gun Barrell Makers

gunmaker

Does anyone have an interest in the surname Parsons? The father's name was Benjamin and both his son and grandson was called George Ebenezer. Other sons were Benjamin & William. They were all gun barrell makers during the 19th century. The family originated in Halesowen.

Hello and welcome Gunmaker, I am not sure of any connection but how strange I should read your post. I called in at Key Hill cemetery today to take a couple of photo's, while I was there I took this one. I thought I would post it just in case. The headstone reads Joseph Parsons of Whitmore Lane Small Heath. I know its a common name but a headstone usually means a family with a certain amount of wealth so I thought it worthwhile.

I'm intrested in the Parsons name. Joseph Parsons (b. about 1833) was a Gun Barrel maker as was his father Jabal Parsons (b. about 1812). Joseph's daughter Susannah (b. about 1869) married Arthur Ernest Phillips my Great Grandfather.
