Parents wedding reception - Rosebridge Social Club

Key Hill Brian

View attachment 68895 I found this picture whilst clearing my late dads flat out - I had never ever seen it before. It is 26th July 1947 - My parents wedding - Albert Southwell + Elsie Rodney, outside the Rosebridge Social Club - believed to be in Bridge ST? if so, which end, I do not recall it between Lucas's and Farm St school.
So sad that almost everyone has now departed including the centre child. The outer children are hopefully alive, as is the Young blonde on the left - Florrie Selvy, and the woman under the "Snack" part of the sign - Beryl Knight nee Cozens.

Families are Southwell's/Selvy's & Knight's/Rodney's
Both grandmothers having remarried.

Lovely photo, 1947 was a wonderful hot summer after the worst winter in my lifetime. The only Bridge Street I can find is off 296 Broad Street, apart from Bridge Street West.

Cracking photo Brian I would think if it's near Farm Street it would be Bridge Street West.

Could it be William Newman & Sons Ltd (Social Club) 180, Bridge Street West, Wm. Newman had a factory in Hospital Street.

Sorry all, I believe it is Bridge St West - always just called it Bridge St as a kid.
Dad was from Brearley St so probably Summer Lane end - Newmans could well be it.

Have most names for it but I do not know the Selvys really - I know somew of them are on it but there are abouit 3 or 4 No one recalls.
All my cousins are too young to recall it!
