I’ve just been tidying up our “Reference books etc” section material and discovered what a mine of information it is ! Yes it sounds a bit dry for your New Year’s entertainment but if you’re looking for something historical to read, view, look up or just browse, take a look. You might find something to interest you.

I am reading a book by Val Horton titled "It's Not About Shakespeare"
It is a really interesting book about the development of Stratford-Upon-Avon from 1775-1915. Examining ordinary life in the town. Much about the development of the streets and housing. I never knew about the slum courts and back to backs. Also touches on the development of Birmingham and the links with some of the Stratford families.
Very well researched and highly recommended.
