Hi,
I used to live in Queslett Road, Great Barr in the early 50's. I now live in France and last week met a lady who also lived in Great Barr in the 1950's. We think we may have gone to the same Infant School but can't remember it's name. Can you help ???

Thanks
Jayne

Hi Jayne
Our children used to go to Doe Bank Infant school, that was in Frampton way, but that was in the mid 60's, Its possible that that school was not around then though. I think a lot depended upon which side of the Queslett road you lived.

Jayne mine was down Raeburn Rd, in the old huts until they built the existing one, we moved into the new one, before going to Collingwood Drive, Dave

Hi,
Thank you all for your help. I know now I certainly went to Pheasey Infants. I've mailed the secretary to ask if there is anywhere I can contact to check the registers for that time.

Cheers

Jayne try friends reunited [it's free to join now] where there are numerous schools listed. I'm a member even though i don't go on very often but will look up your school to see how many pupis are on there. Which years are you looking at. Jean.

does anyone remember at the entrance of raeburn road to the infants the building that everyone used to say was haunted, it was a door that lead to stairs that went to the juniors i think. there was a piano in there and the kids used to say sometimes it would play on its own. Mr Brown, a truly terrible teacher and assistant head master would scare the kids with more stories.

Hi Jayne

It is not a very common name you have, and I knew a Jayne Shales when I lived at Perry Barr. We both went to Canterbury Cross Junior School until 1958. I don't suppose you and she are the same girl?
