Nutt, George

Astonian

gone but not forgotten
Hi guys
I am wondering whether or not does anybody recall the family of nutt from Kyricks lane sparkbrook the man I am is interested in is a elderly man
From the Kyricks lane which I think was around the back of old hawleys bakery way back in the early days this man is still alive and in his ninety two
Years of age he was George ,I, nutt he as lost his memory now they tell me, and in care is daughter goes to see him but he is lost
He was habit of an historian in is younger days and to be honest I have found out whom is name was through a letter I found amongst his books
Whom I recently accuired its a three page letter he wrote I surprise its really a verse but its is exposing is memory of the area and the lane
I do not know whether he As been a member of our forum or not I know there was a Nutt sewing machine seller years ago from alum rock and Aston
But I have been told he spent a lot of time where he was born in Walsall many Years ago as a child but the remaking of his life was sparkbrook
I was wondering whether or not could I be allowed to down this letter of. Verse on is behalf in the poem section if that's what it is
At the bottom of all the pages he wrote is initials and surname added to it as a tribute to the man
There was no think he knew about brum and he had every book chinn printed whether it was a soft cover or hard back and of the canals and of the railways
And the very old books of the bull ring andasd he is nearer is days to end I thought it would be a tribute to him
Best wishes Astonian,,,,,,''''

Re: George nutt

Alan , a nice thought, but you would need the permission of his daughter to use his poetry and also if this gentleman is alive, you know the rules we cannot discuss him on here.

I lived in Long St, Sparkbrook, during the 1950s and remember a Violet Nutt who may have belonged to the family you ask about. I seem to recall knowing her from Christ Church infants' school as a fellow pupil, though I'm not sure she wasn't older than that.
