I am trying to find information on what happened in Birmingham on the first anniversary of the end of WW1. Would there have been a civic event in Victoria Square for instance? What date would war memorials have gone up round the town? Also slightly differently when were the 'Dead Mans Pennies' issued?

Hi JSH
There is a little information about the peace celebrations in Birmingham at the bottom of this written piece on the Picture past website.

"Birmingham laid on entertainment in its municipal parks for all the city's children who were also presented with a commemorative medal. Cakes and ale were added to the meals at some of the workhouses " Quoted from Picture the past .org.uk website
