Hello everyone,

I have worked for Newey and Eyre , Electrical wholesaler for the last 34 years and still going strong ! The Company was established in Birmingham in 1926 . When I started in 1989 the Lichfield road branch, Aston was 001 , Wolverhampton branch 002 , Dudley 003 and so on as acquisitions etc grew around the country !
I have tried to research but can find no information on the origins of the company as we approach 100 years . Would be interested to know who Mr Newey and Mr Eyre were and what happened to them etc if anyone has any useful info would be greatly appreciated?

Today it’s owned by a French company , Rexel co uk and still has a few hundred branches in the UK .

Many thanks

Tony Peace

According to Grace Guide the Company was incorporated as WH Price and Newey in 1926, and in 1928 the name
was changed to Newey and Eyre.
