New pub

robert

master brummie
What is the name of the last NEW pub to be built in birmingham, not one that has been built on the site of an old pub ie the Yew Tree Yardley.

Surely the one on Warwick Rd in Olton next door to the old Boundary club. Whats it called Casey Jones or something like that has to be in with a chance. I know it wasn't built specifically as a pub. I think it was a wine warehouse previously.

phil you are bang on with that one, i never gave it a thought, i was thinking along the lines of Weatherspoons. They seem to open one every month. But technichley Casey Janes is in Solihull.

But when you drive down the Warwick Road, towards Solihul, the sign for welcome to Solihul is past the esso petrol station, which is beyond Casey Joes, so according to that Casey Joes would be in Birmingham. Not sure where the welcome to Birmingham sign is coming the other way, obviously thats why the old boundary club was so called.

" Casey Jones" . Is it named after a local character or the well known but overated American engine driver. Now that would be strange.

its named after the guys two daughters or something like that, casey and joe, it has links with the old boundary club as the two daughters are daughters of, i think, noel maclane, who used to own and run the old boundary club, bit of a local character!

Its named after a local characters granddaughter. Its Casy Joes. All the buildings on that side of the warwick road and the left hand side of Gospel lane come under solihull. At the junction of Lincoln road and Warwick rd the last building on the Birmingham side is numberd 700 and something, while the first building on the other side is number 1. So i would say the boundry runs across from Lincoln rd to Gospel lane.
