Nearest Cof E cemeteries to Colebourne Road, Birmingham & Walford Road, Birmingham

Hi All,

Could anyone help with any ideas of the nearest cemeteries to 2 roads in Birmingham.

1. Colebourne Road, Birmingham. I don't even know what vague area of Birmingham this is in - does anyone else?

2. Walford Road, Birmingham. Think this in the Aston area of Birmingham. Would this make the nearest cemetery Selly Oak.

Am totally stuck on some of the dates of death of my autys and thought a cemetery search might help.
1. Is for Amy Farmer b: 1899 and died sometime after 1955

2. Is for Henry Farmer B: 1855 and Margaret Jane Newsum (b1880 prob. died 1912).

Thanks v. much for any help:) Sarah.

If you mean Colebourne Road Hall Green/Mosely/Billesley (wherever Birmingham currently decrees it to be) the nearest C of E Cemetery would be Christ Church, Yardley Wood. Click here.

Colebourne Rd might be Robin Hood or Yardley Cemetery, I think it's in the parish of Holy Cross Church Billesley Common but that has no burial ground.

Neither Yardley or Robin Hood are C of E they are both Municipal and Robin Hood is in Solihull. Brandwood is the nearest Birmingham Municipal Cemetery. Christ Church where my Dad rests is nearest C of E one I beleive.

Walford Road is I think Tyseley, which is no longer Aston. I would suggest you try Lodge Hill first, failing that, Witton Cemetery. Witton is quite a distance away, however, it seems to have people from very distant parts of Birmingham buried there. For Colebourne Road, I would try Brandwood End first. It is impossible to say for definite where they are buried, you just have to try the nearest first. Cemeteries usually have sections for C of E as well as non-conformists. If you have no luck with cemeteries, then you should try the local churches with burial grounds. After 1860 I would suggest trying a cemetery first, as church burial space was very limited, and in some places, non-existent.

Yardley Cemetery on Yardley Rd would be quite close to Walford Rd. Dek
