Nando's Restaurant

jennyann

Gone but not forgotten. R.I.P.
The other evening we were looking for a place locally to go out for
a meal. We had seen this restaurant calld Nando's for a while and
it said on it's sign that it sold Portuguese Chicken. We went in on another occasion and somehow didn't like the look of the place and went off somewhere else. So, the other evening we found ourselves near Nando's once again and looking for a meal. We decided to give it a try and had a great meal of grilled Lemon Herbed Chicken. You order it at the counter and wait for ten minutes whilst it is grilled. When I got home I decided to have a look on the Internet and see where this
restaurant chain had started. We had already found out that they had
7 restaurants in the Vancouver area.

What came up mostly was that this highly successful chain had several restaurants in Britain and not only that there are three in Birmingham and one of the is in the new Bulllring Centre... There were 37 reviews on one page and every single one of them praised this chain greatly which is very unusual overall.

I must have walked by it not realizing because I went several times to the Bullring and walked every inch of that place. Has anyone tried it? They are well known for "Peri Peri" chicken which can be very spicy. They only started their business in South Africa in l999 and now have franchises
all over the world!!!!!!!!

Nandos

Jenny, theres a Nando's in 'Star City', on the boarder of Aston and Nechells.
We often go there, their corn on the cob is to die for. Everything is freshly cooked in the open to your taste, so although the peri peri is deemed to be quite spicy(personally its my favourite) you can also have the milder lemon and herb variety. If you attend on a regular basis, you can collect stamps for every meal you purchase and accumulate free extras, eventually a free whole chicken!
Its very child friendly and has unlimited drink and ice cream top-ups.

Nando's

That's great Sue, sounds like you like Nado's too.......I am thinking that the restaurants in the UK from the Nando chain offer more than the one that we went to the other evening in the way of side dishes, etc. We are going to check out another one. Probably would go up one "heat level" I like spicy food but I would be very wary of the "Peri Peri" chicken. I'll definitely be trying the Nando's in the UK when I next come over. Can't you tell I'm hooked  Much better than Colonel Saunders, which by the way are decreasing in numbers very rapidly around this area. I look forward to trying all six Nando's I haven't yet tried in future

There is a nandos in Milton Keynes as well , they are probably all over the place now .

Tell you what though, they are a bit spicy we tried the begginers sauce and that was a bit hot .
