hi all..heres a pic of saltley road and gt francis st....can anyone tell me the name of the pub that was on the corner....i can just see an ansells sign on the left....
The railway line is passing over the A47 Saltley Road the junction could be Goodrick street on that junction is the Station inn not conclusive but the railway gives a good indication
I never was much good at pub crawls, I tended to stay in the first one,( usually the Coach and Horses on Bordesley Green ) until I fell over, then went home.iggy:
hi gham...i know what you mean..somehow the pics look sort of haunting....when my brother goes out and about taking pics of the old buildings etc he always shoots them in black and white....
I would have to agree with John, it can only be the Station Inn on the corner of Goodrick St and Saltley Rd.
The view across the road is Great Francis St at its junction with Saltley Rd. A little to the left just out of picture would be a railway bridge that crosses the Saltley Rd at what now is Melvina Rd.
This photo must have been taken around roughly the same time as the one in question , a view of Saltley Rd and shows in the distance the Station Inn . Just before the railway bridge I described in my previous post.
