I think he is referring to Mrs Cox's little shop somewhere opposite Thompson's the butchers, my old boss Mavis's mom owned it and her husband Len.

I used to love stera milk straight from the bottle, nice than the creamy 'gold top' we were told was 'good for us'!
(Memories of rice "milk puddings" cooked slowly in the oven are flooding back now - my job as a youngster was to grate the nutmeg on the top!)
Nowadays its skimmed milk, no fat or cream at all - just white water really.

Lloyd I used to love the cream off the top of the milk [that's if the birds didn't get there first]. Home made rice pudding too. Bit off topic but it's to do with cafe's and food I suppose. Jean.

hi lloyed
yes i still get it for my tea and coffee but also unfortunately i still drink it from
the bottle so now that i always have to buy two botles i have to go into worc
city to buy it because our little village don,t sell it
i.m afraid its an habbit i cannot break and i think its better than pas
alot of people have said to me over the years its bad for you
its a load of nonsence i have always kept in good form
and plus the fact it colours the tea better than pas;
oh by the way astonite ,patty is right ,sorry i did not reply straight away
to your thread yesterday when you mentioned the tea rooms .
i do remember the little tea rooms but i was meaning the cox family shop
grocery . and sweets facing thompsons the butchers , there was a shop at
the bottom of the yard but she was always selling out of it and she
was not open on sunday morning like mrs cox and we always got our ice
cream from her as well ;nice .little lady always strict with the kids coming
she watched us like an hawk from the time you stepped the shop until
you walked out of her shop . mind you you cannot blame her
because us kids used to help ourselfs to her empty milk bottles
[ stera bottles]as she alway had a load of crates of empties out side
the shop front door on the way in-or out and claim a 1d on it
she eventual clocked on and moved al crates to the front of
the window .
have a nice day every body best wishes astonian ;;
