Hi could someone please look up 165 Wells Road Hockley.
I am looking for Mortimers they are on the 1911 census but their father is in a workhouse in Huddersfield so I'm hoping they are reunited in the Electorial Rolls.
Also in 1913 my grandfather (James Mortimer) is living at 12 Ebenezer Terrace, Morville Street. My grandmother is living at 279 Icknield Street (Rose Edith Moore). As on Marriage cert. Would you please tell me if there are any other people with the same surnames living at these addresses. Thank you for your time.:)

The address in the 1911 census is 165 Well Street, not Wells Road.

I can't find reference to it in the electoral rolls, strangely, but it ran from Great Hampton Street at Vyse St junction to Great Hampton Row / Wheeler Street at Farm St junction, parallel to and south east of Great King Street.

Ebenezer Terrace, Morville St: Only the Rock family at No. 16 are mentioned, in 1945/50.

279 Icknield Street: In 1912 Horace Frank Bill is there, then from 1920 the Dawson family (Wilfred Lawrence, John and Nellie) are there till the 50s at least.

Hi there,in the 1920 Electoral Rolls there is the following:
James and Edith Mortimer, living at house 5,court 22 Wheeler Street.
Incidentally,in 1918 at the same address a James Mortimer 109926, R.A.F. is listed.

:)Thank you LadyLinda. I have seen this information before, but had forgotten. I'll nip onto the WW1 thread and see if anyone can advise me of a way to find more info. on the R.A.F. that doesn't involve travelling to London!
