Thank you so much for looking Shera. The Crutchleys you have found are indeed the right ones. Elizabeth age 33 is my grandmother. I wonder why i cannot find her marriage to Mr Crutchley (This was her first marriage). She married for the second time five years later in 1916 (to my grandfather William Nicholl) and gives her name as Elizabeth Crutchley ....AGE 34!! (doesn't add up does it?)

hi linda, ive looked through the original marriage lists but still cant find a marriage. maybe they were never actually married, i dont know???

as for the age on her second marriage, she probably said she was younger than she really was if her new husband was younger than her. it seemed to be generally accepted that the wife should be the same age or younger than the husband. there seems a big age gap between the first 2 children as well (charles 12 and elizabeth 6).
