Hi all,:grin2:
I am looking for the family of Albert and Margaret Moore they had two children Margaret born 1893 & Alexander born 1895 at Kings Norton. The last I can find them is in the 1911 Census Margaret was 18 a Sewing Machinest Tailoring, & Alexander 16 and a Electrical Engineer. I have found a number of Margaret Moore Marriges and my question is this, is there some way of finding out if it the corect Magaret Moore without bbying all the certificates. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

George Palmer

People I am reseaching are Palmer, Hartwell, Moore, Wright ;)

Hi George,

Are you saying that the maiden name of Margaret was also Moore?

If you don't know what her maiden name was get the birth certificate for one of the children as it will be recorded there. FreeBMD may be useful to you.

Doug

Hi Doug,
Margaret Moore the mother, her maiden name was Hartwell nee Palmer if that makes any sense to you, she had one daughter to George Hartwell then was killed in an accident but I cannot find his death she then married Albert Moore. Thank you so much for your kindness.

Research names are Palmer, Hartwell, Moore, Wright, Littlewood, Stanford.

Hi George,

Is the marriage of Margaret to Albert you are after? Or the marriage of the daughter?

Interestingly, in Kings Norton in December Quarter 1891, Volume 6c Page 781 there is a marriage of an Elizabeth Hartwell. There is also a marriage of an Albert Moore.

A check of the 1901 census appears to indicate that the other two names on the page (William Fearn and Lottie Fisher) married each other.

How certain are you that she was Margaret and not Elizabeth?

Hi I guess its Doug,
Interestingly enough its recorded wrong. It is so confusing that I got somebody in Englad to check it out for me, I got the Marriage certificate for Albert Moore & Margret Hartwell recorded on the 1st November 1891, if you look at the 1901 Census Elizabeth Bridget is the step daughter. Elizabeth Bridget Hartwell Married a Henry Littlewood in 1903. Now having said all of that, my interest is in Margaret Moore the daughter. :D

Hi George,

How strange that the index is incorrect. :(

As far as I am aware the only chance you would have of locating her without purchasing all the certificates would be to find another family member who has the information to hand.

Have you tried GenesReunited for example or looked for her on an Ancestry tree?

Doug
(Remembered to include my name this time)

Hi George,

Just checked on Ancestry trees for Margaret (jnr) and Alexander but no joy.

Sorry.:(

Doug

Hi Doug,
Thanks for all the help I think I'll just have to purchase the certificates and cut my losses.

Hi George,

I'd hold off for just a bit - someone else may have an idea that is not so costly. :)

Take care,

Doug

In 1920 Albert, Alexander and Margaret (don't know which one) Moore are at 38 Leighton Rd, Moseley. The photo is a house in this short road - they are all the same design.
Could the marriage be this one?
Margaret Moore / Cecil Reynolds 2nd quarter 1922 Kings Norton vol 6d page 264

Hi George

When you send for birth cert's you can ask them to cross reference the parents names, also mothers maiden name, as this will be on the cert, if they don't match they won't send them

bren

Sorry, it's marriage cert you are after, you can ask them to check fathers name and profession, mothers name not recorded
