Montgomery School

Mr Brazier ( later to become the headteacher of Montgomery Primary school) was my class teacher at St Mary's primary school, Handsworth just after the war. I was a pupil there for a while before going on the the newly opened Cherry Orchard School. It is a long time ago but I remember him well because he was one of the very few teachers at schools I went to that I ever actually liked! (I asked him to my Birthday party and he did pop in for a short time, which was such an honour). I am now 83 years old and have been sorting out old papers and files: I came across an Evening Mail cutting dated 2nd September 1966. It publishes his address to the British Association on "the problems and satisfactions of teaching in an area with a large immigration population". And there is a good photo of him with a group of pupils.
