Please could anyone look up the baptism of John Mitchell (father was Robert) in 1830 or 1831 - there may be more than one of this name. Our John was born March 1830 and there is a baptism of a John William Mitchell 26 December 1831. I am trying to discover whether they are the same John or are there two Johns with father named Robert. We do not have a name for the mother.
If you can help, thanks.

there is only the one baptism around that time, the one you found in 1831. details are

26.12.1831 john william son of robert and ann mitchell weaman st. gunmaker.

usually there is a date of birth but not there on this record.

Thank you very much for that information, it has possibly solved a problem we have had for years. Our Robert was a gunsmith so this looks like being the correct person. We were absolutely stuck with Robert - all we knew was that he was a gunsmith your information will be a great help.:smile2:
