Midlands Arts Centre (MAC) 60th Anniversary

My wife and I go to many traditional and folk gigs in Birmingham and the MAC provides an intimate venue for such concerts. We were there as recently as October 9th amongst an enthusiastic audience and there's nowhere better on such an occasion. There used to be outdoor summer concerts in "The Round" but I'm not sure that they still take place. Our visits go back over more than 20 years and the MAC has developed in that time. Long may it continue.

During lockdown they refurbished the Outdoor Theatre and constructed a covered stage. I imagine it will be used next year.

There are metal bars behind the seats now.

The Mac appeared in last Thursday’s Grayson Perry Art Club program on channel 4. Also included Joe Lycett’s art studio in Birmingham. Grayson was previewing an exhibition of Art Club work there. It gave people an opportunity to talk about what their art meant in their life.
