Gone but not forgotten R.I.P.
Can I say thank you to the above. I have just been signed off after having both cataracts done. I am absolutley over the moon, for after wearing glasses for the last 15 years I have finally thrown them away. I cannot believe how my eyesight has improved, I did'nt realise how vivid colours are. The MEI were brilliant, they even done some laser surgery on my left eye to improve it even more. Thats how the NHS should be, I can't recommend them enough. Again, thank you.

great news terry, i know how you must feel. my mom had her cataracts done a year or so ago at dudley road, bham. absolutely fantastic treatment and result. she has brilliant eye sight now without any glasses, because like you, they lasered the lens of her eye to improve it. before she had this done she couldnt see more than 2 or 3 feet in front of her. it has made her enjoyment of life a hundred times better

Great news Terry, it must be so good to have such good eye sight after years of mist. My husband had his cataracts removed a couple of years ago, and his bionic eyes never cease to amaze me, he can see so far into the distance now and needs glasses only for reading small print. Well done NHS.

Thanks all, I know the NHS come in for some stick at times, but I would'nt want any other system. Its people that abuse the system that annoy me, like people that get drunk and into fights and expect our hard working nurses to patch them up. They should be made to pay for it. Anyway I don't want to get political so I'll leave it at that.
