As contractors continue to work on the Brierley Hill extension, recent work include the replacement of Hanson Bridge and the repair of the GWR Parkhead Viaduct which replaced Brunels timber structure and may contain elements of that original within the brickwork. At Moor Street work started on the extension through Albert Street in April and this summer the Metro is installing ticket machines again.

If I recall the original ticket machines were removed following a spate of thefts.

An interesting picture from 2000 at Wednesbury Station.

“Sleipnyr, the mythical eight-legged stallion of Viking legend, rises above the Metro Centre at Wednesbury, 28th December 2000.
The town's twin landmarks are the spires of St.Bartholomew's (right) and St.Mary's foreground.”
(Main line to Metro, J Boynton, 2001
