Thanks for that Rod. While on the subject of maps I don't know if its been mentioned before but there are some fantastic ordanance survey street maps in Central Library. I have a photocopy of where my great grandparents lived in Lozells with the house numbers. They are great for working out where the houses schools and churches were.
 
I have a growing collection of maps, its an obsession. My new one came yesterday from Cassini Mapping four versions of Birmingham from various years 1800's to present day. If anyone ever wants a map section for the genealogy Id be more than pleased to help out.
