Paul Braddon painted this of 22 Masshouse Lane. I believe it’s called Okd Mass House. Does anyone know the significance of 22 Masshouse Lane ? Viv.8AB81C8E-F700-406E-A2C1-8C2FAF49BC3F.jpeg

Morning Viv,
According to the 1851 census John Simons was living there. He was a surgeon and apothecary and had several students living with him. Was this where the bodies were 'operated' on that were found in Park Street I wonder?

John White Keyworth.sugeon, is there in 1862- 73 directories. But property disappeared from directories in the mid 1870s., but seems at least 2 surgeons lived there. Could Elizabeth mead be the housekeeper?. Perhaps the premises was for business only? I see a doctors assistant lived there.
John Simons is listed as interested ibn a new "Eastern cemetery" at Sshted in 1857. This would be just before the Park St one was closed to new burials
