Mason, John

John Mason b. 1885 abt. Any record to show him living at 41 Temple Road, Willenhall, Staffs. (around 1919-20) would be most helpful. A married man but wife's first name unknown.

Regards
Peter

Wife was Lily Mary Burgess. She and her children are at 41 Temple Road on the 1921 census.

When his 2 children were baptised (1913 & 1920) his address is also listed as 41 Temple Road, Willenhall. He is listed as a stamper for both but on the 1911 census he is listed as a professional footballer.

Thank you all for the feedback. Will have to look into the info provided and see if I can confirm Lily being his wife.
MWS, what were the children's names please?

Nora, born 26 Sep 1913 and John Wellesley, born 14 Mar 1920.

Possibly nothing but there is a John Mason in the Brocton parish of Stafford, a married man of the right age (no family). I can't see the scan but there's something strange as nearly everyone listed (over 2500) is a man and appear to be under the same address.

Brocton had a WW1 military training camp so perhaps as Lyn suggested he was in the military still.
It was also the site of a large (5000+) POW camp. Was he a guard there?

Thank you MWS & Janice.
Had served but discharged 5.1.1919. From pension ledger details the address info, no service papers for him.
Can't find a marriage for them.
