Sorry, in post #3 should have said that Mary Pearce was spinster and Thomas Morris was batchelor. Marriage was by Banns.

Wow! That was quick & really most interesting info. May I ask if you think the signature of the witness THOMAS Pearce was identical on both certs? ( I am assuming that you actually see the certs as they appear in the records?) You have given me some vital info on this family & I am very excited...so many thanks for your help I really do appreciate it.

Margaret.

Brilliant....now here is another related request of you if I may ask ???? Thomas Pearce signed his name at the marriage of his daughter Ann in 23/12/1793 & his own marriage on 22/01/1776 both at St Martin's..would you be an angel & double check the signature of Thomas on these certs against the new ones you found ??????

Margaret.

Thank you so very much, Les, for your invaluable help tonight. I am now certain that Thomas Pearce signed his own marriage cert in 1776 & also on his 3 daughters certs as a witness in 1793/1803/1809...brilliant info for me & all thanks to you for taking so much time & trouble ( you will be on my Christmas card list !!!!!!!!!!) Thanks again.

Margaret.
