I would be most grateful for the details of the wedding of William Daniell and Elizabeth (Smith?) at St Mertins on 31 May 1829, including witnesses.

Thank you very much

Chris

The witnesses are difficult to read but it could be (Harriet ?) James and Thomas Ineslay? If anyone else can have a look it's under Daniel with one L.

Thank you so much for your very rapid and helpful reply. I am impressed!

Unfortunately the witness names do not mean anything to me at present but who knows where following such names could lead. Would it be possible to confirm that it was Elizabeth Smith.

Thank you again

Chris

as wendy said it is daniel with one L. elizabeth is definitely SMITH. they were both of this parish and bachelor and spinster.

as for the witnesses? as wendy says, very difficult to read. could be harriet james or jones. and definitely thomas but cant make out the surname - inslay or something like that

Thank you both for looking up the record and trying to make sense of the witnesses. As of the parish, I will see if trade directories can help - any other sources?.

Re Daniel with one L - there are variations of spelling (his father was originally Daniell then Daniels / brothers were Daniels / and William had variations of spelling. William was the only one to retain his father's Daniell spelling which has come down to my line.

Very many regards

Chris
