Hello
Would some kind person please look up the following marriage I have found on IGI pilot site please?

Harriet STURKEY (should be STARKEY I think) to Edward LLEWELLYN 9 March 1831 in St Martin's.
Any extra information regarding fathers, addresses, occupations would be extremely useful:)

Many thanks
Suzanne

hello suzanne,

here are the details - edward llewellyn of this parish bachelor and harriet sturkey of this parish spinster married 9th mar 1831 at st. martins . witness was phillip hughes (and robert powell, a church official)

it definitely is written as sturkey on the record. there are no other records at all for "sturkey" so i would still guess it may have been starkey.

Thanks Shera
I also think it is Starkey. Can you tell if Harriet made her mark? as she did on her second marriage to Thomas Field in 1845.
I don't suppose they put fathers and addresses that early did they?

Aidan
Yes it does look promising and also that Harriet may have been a bit of a fibber when it came to her age:) Can't understand though why she carried the incorrect age through to all the census records? Wonder if it was because she didn't want her second husband to know her real age?

Suzanne

both edward and harriet made their mark suzanne. before 1837 this is all that was recorded on the marriage record, no ages or parents/occupations.
