Marriage of William Mason to Selina Phillips abt 1888 if possible please
i am looking for William`s fathers name and Witness`s.
Thankyou
Carol

The marriage was registered in Q4 1888

The GRO ref is:
Birmingham 6d 266
Without knowing the church, the only way to get more information will be to order the certificate from the GRO or the B'ham reg. office

hello carol, i have checked st. martins but no good, and cant find anything on igi either.

i checked the 1891 census and it is strange that if they married in 1888 how come theyve got children aged 10, 7, 5 and 2?? or am i looking at the wrong record?

I also found the same as Shera but i also looked through the births and found one in the 4th qtr 1870 for Selina, in Brum but can't find a William & Selina around the same age in 1891

Hello Shera,
Thankyou for looking at my message,
I could not find William and Selina on the 1891 but they are on the 1871
and 1881 where there are 2 children and they belonged to Selina.
I had been looking for a William Mason born 1808 married to Mary Ann Nee
Pinkston born abt 1811,i found them on the 1851 and 1861 but after that
no trace of William and Mary.
I then found a william with Selina same occupation on the 1871 i thought
maybe this could be my William. As Mary has completly disappeared after
1861 so i thought maybe she had died.
If this is My Willaim married to Selina i can find out who William`s father was.
There were a few William Mason`s born around 1808 in Birmingham so i don`t know which is mine.
Hope it is not to complicated.
Carol

carol i think the william mason you want is the one we have mentioned on the 1891 census who is transcribed as 30 but is actually 80!

in 1881 he is 70 and married to selina, so i think the marriage you want is the one in 1879 to selina billingsley. mary ann may have been his first wife.

Hello Shera,
THankyou very much for your help i would never had worked it out i am so grateful.
I will now send for the marriage certificate.
Best Wishes
Carol
