Marriage Look Up

Penfolds

Brummie babby
Can you confirm a marriage between Stephen Aldington, a farmer born in Moreton Bago and Sarah Smith from Cleeve Prior in Worcestershire, on 12 October 1835? Any other details listed?

Paul from Canberra

thats correct paul. they were both listed "of this parish" and were bachelor and spinster

witnesses were william and emma aldington

Many thanks

Can you suggest why this church would have been the one they were married in? What Parish did the church cover in the 1839s?

Paul

The Church is in the centre of Birmingham and served the surrounding districts, although many 'Better Off' people came from outside the area to marry as it was much nicer than some the local churches ( And from what I gather and was told ) at that time as long as 'The Banns' were called in a church in the County of Warwickshire it was OK.

Just in case you don't have this here are the family in 1841 census
