Hello

I wondered whether someone would mind looking up the following marriage for me at St Martin's, I am trying to establish whether this is a second marriage for William. So would really appreciate any details ie widower and any witnesses please.

31st May 1798 William Bagshaw and Elizabeth Sidgwick (sp?)

I am working on a 'hunch' that this could be the same William Bagshaw who married Elizabeth Brooks 21st Apr 1783 at St. Martins. Then again I could be very wrong :)

Thanks in advance

As no reply, I just wondered whether I had got the marriage dates wrong, I obtained then from IGI but forgot to check if they were submitted or extracted records. Sorry for wasting anyone's time!

Would you have any more info Birth year of William and any children?
Have you traced on the census at all? And have you tried ancestry if not let me know and I will have a look.

So not the same man lol me and my hunches

Jane thank you for the offer to help - I have traced a Prudence Bagshaw b 1806 Birmingham, her marriage and through the census but was trying to establish her parents and have come up with William and Elizabeth am just trying to determine which marriage would be the correct parents for her. Think it maybe the later one but can't be sure but will have a look at the witnesses Shera has given me for a clue.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the baptisms Shera. I had a look on 1841 census for William snr but no luck. Altho' knowing his occupation and where he lived may help distinguish him from any others I may find so Thank you

Prudence was christened at ST Phillips on 2nd Oct 1806 and according to IGI is also a Thomas in 1808 plus a Mary 31st May 1798 aged 8 years. However she married at St Martins.

Oo..er
