zircon

knowlegable brummie
The lds web site gives a marriage of William Hawkes to Ann Wilkes 21 12 1857
i wonder if someone could look at this

My William was a gunmaker and lived in Kings Heath/Moseley
Many thanks

i think youve hit the jackpot

dec 21st 1857 william hawkes . of full age. bachelor. gun maker. moseley st. father edward hawkes. labourer

ann wilks. of full age. spinster. moseley st. joseph wilks . labourer

witnesses were thomas hawkes and charlotte wilks

Thats the family then

Seems odd they both lived in Kings Heath but got married in town, one of the kids was baptised in moseley and the rest in Kings Heath
I would have thought they would have got married closer to home

Anyway thanks very much for the info
