Hi, I am trying to find details of the marriage between Joseph Hood b.1786 and Sarah c.1790 (I do not know Sarah's maiden name.)
I believe that Joseph's parents were John Hood & Elizabeth.
Joseph was baptised in St Martins 30 Sept 1786 and his son John (James) Hood was baptised in St Martins 23 April 1810
Any info will be most gratefully received

Baz, sorry I didn't have any luck finding a marriage although without a date it is difficult. They may have married at Sarah's parish church have you looked at any on the IGI.

Aww thanks Wendy, sadly there is nothing in IGI.
You might well be correct about the marriage taking place in the brides parish, just hoped something might have been apparent.
The son John is my line and it was assumed he was from Liverpool, but just discovered his Birmingham birth.
Ah! well, back to the drawing board:)

Thanks Cat, I have done that but can find nothing directly relating to my family.:)

Hi Baz.

I have only just seen your post. My wife is descended from the Hoods of Birmingham and I have been researching them.

I have found the following from the IGI. John & Elizabeth had at least 4 children: Joseph (30/9/1786), John (5/6/1789), Sarah (1/6/1792), James (26/12/1797).

Joseph married Sarah (sorry have no details of the marriage) and they had at least 3 children: George (29/2/1808), John (9/8/1809), Nancy (15/4 1811). George could very well be my wife's ancestor, right date , right place, or it could just be a coincidence!

Regards,

John
