Would like to find the fathers names of the marriage between William Knight and Sarah Miles 21st Oct 1863,could anyone do a look up for me ,i would be most grateful.
Thank You
Linda
Linda....Sorry to say but the only real way of finding out the fathers name of the groom and bride is to purchase the wedding certficate.....or you could try to match them up in the census records but that could be a hit or miss.......and not reliable enough.....the only otherway I can think of is to visit the office where the records are kept and view it there....I am not sure where they are now....but its in London....., the certficate cost around £7.50 plus postage....cheaper than your rail fare to London unless you have a few hundred certficates to purchase....
Another way is to find more information and check census.........information such as birthdate, where born, where lived, occupation. I found a couple of William Knights living in Birmingham but just need a lead.
Found their daughter Ada Jane Knight christened in Acocks Green 15/08/1869 on her birth certificate says father William Knight was a railway labourer mother was Sarah Miles they were living coventry road yardley on the 15th may 1869 this where Ada Jane was born.
Looks like a trip to Birmingham Central Library to look at parish records for St Martins to find out who Williams father was.
William Knight, age full, Batchelor, Labourer, residence Deritend. Father Thomas Knight, Laourer.
Sarah Miles, age full, Spinster, residence Harborne Road, Father William Miles, Shoe Maker.
