Lowe Family

proper brummie kid
Hi
New to this but could do with some help tracing my Great Grandad and Nan

My Grandad was Walter Harold Lowe born Handworth 29th Aug 1897 he had a younger brother called William, his parents names on his birth certificate are Thomas George Lowe and Lily Selina Lowe (Lane) the address is given as 7 Gladstone Terrace Handsworth. There may be a problem tracing Lily as she put my Grandad and his brother into the Cottage homes in Coleshill in around 1908 after Thomas died she then remarried and I believe had more children.
Any help would be fantastic

Thanks Lowie

Hopefully it's just me,but at the minute I'm having trouble finding any of them........

Thanks for trying Mrs T

Thats the problem I've had, however I have my Grandads Birth cert and his marraige cert in front of me !!!!!!! Hopefully I'll have his brothers (William or Bill as he was known) birth cert by the weekend to back up the info I have already.

Thank you very much for that I'll get down the central library on monday with that.

Thank you again

Lowie

Just in case my IM doesn't reach you in time Here he is...
Deaths Mar 1909 LOWE Thomas George 35 Birmingham 6d114

Looks like he may have been Ill for a while and Lily was quick off the mark after his death, if that's her 2nd marriage

The very helpfull chap at the Reg office checked the second marriage for me an said its the wronge one as Lilly is to young and listed as a spinster.

Thanks Again

Ok I'll have another look for you... off to work now (it's morning here in NZ) but will look when I come home... Have a good evening. :)

There are 2 possble marriages for Lily
June quarter 1913 Lily Lowe married William Adey Aston 6D 697

March quarter 1920 Lily Lowe married Alfred Lane or Raymond White Aston 6D 838

Thanx for doing the look up Di....:)
I wonder if it's the Alfred Lane marriage and she married a relative as her maiden name was Lane, or whether it's just a coincidence....!

in 1911 i can see that walter lowe aged 13 and william lowe aged 10 were in the marston green home for children, coleshill heath, coleshill, near bham.

sorry if you already have this

theres a marriage of lily lowe in 1909 jan-mar bham which could be to herbert edgar green or john vaughton green so perhaps that census i found with herbert green is the correct one

Shera we have already looked at that marriage see posts #4 and #7 seems that Lily was too young and a spinster when she married her Mr Green?

sorry pom, yes i realised afterwards it was no good as they were together in an earlier census so i im`d lowie. back to the drawing board
