Lowe Alice

:P
Alice Lowe, born Birmingham c1865 -
1) living with her 'husband' on 1891 census - John, crossed out and changed to George- Ward (c1853), from Oxfordshire (and her brother John Lowe).
I think John may already have been married, as there is a son George c1878 living in the house.
Child - Thomas, 2 years old.
19 George St, Coventry
2) living with John Bowland (born Swindon, Wilts) on 1911 census (noted as married 1 year), with son Thomas still in the household (noted as a stepson to Bowland).
66 Cato St, North Birmingham

Would anyone like to have some fun to see if there are any marriages for this sweet woman, 'cause I can't find any!!! :D:rolleyes:;)

Help  !!!!!!

I tried putting both the above in freeBMD and Ancestry, and didn't get anything back
Why do you, or are you looking somewhere else where I should

im a bit confused...do you mean john lowe or george ward? if john ward im not sure who he is

Hi Shera,
You found me the marriage of Alice to George Ward in 1887 - so it's impossible, I would think, that the son Geoge could belong to Alice??
So, I am speculating that George ward had another wife previous to Alice  ?

its ok negrita but you asked for marr of JOHN ward so wasnt sure if it was someone else!!

ive had a look but unfortunately there are so many george wards that its difficult to know which one. the wife could have been a mary ann but not sure im afraid. :(

Hi Alberta!
I'd been looking through the 1881 census' as well, and have just printed the same info!!
Area is same as that shown on 1911 census for his wife, and the occupation is same as for 1891 census.
Plus the fact that there is a child born c1878 (could be George), but the original of the census is ripped and almost illegible!!
Strange that he married a woman so much older than him........and with kids....

Now for confirming the birth of George born c1878 to parents George and Eliza!
