Hi - I am looking for my G.G.Grandfather James Adey - I have been unable to find a birth. On Census he says he was born in Wood Green, Wednesbury,
dob. about 1821. - Marriage Cert shows father was J. Adey. locksmith deceased by 1837.
I see there is a Christening At St. Martins for J.Adey on 24.4.1821 father Josiah Adey. I would like to know if this entry shows profession of father and /or parish. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks John.

Hi John the entry is James son of Josiah and Martha address Balsall St occupation Cordwainer.

There is another christening of Sarah Adey 30/9/1823 father Josiah mother Martha, address Skinner Street. Occupation Cordwainer.

Hope this helps.:)

Thanks for that - much appreciated. I don't think it's the one I'm after -however I haven't heard of Balsall St. or Skinner St. Do you have any idea where they were?
