Looking for the family of Douglas John Lawler

Hello all, I am hoping someone can help me in my search for Douglas John Lawler.

Douglas was born in 1919 in Birmingham. He joined the RAF and was lost in WW11 when he and his crew died when their Lancaster disappeared and, presumably, crashed. No trace of them has ever been found.

Douglas was the son of Thomas Patrick Lawler and Nellie White. He had a sister called Leah who died at birth. I have been unable to find a death certificate for his Father, but certainly his mother Nellie remarried in 1937. Her new husband was John Scott (Who was previously married to Louisa Tipper with whom he had a daughter, Doris May Scott) and they lived with John`s daughter Doris May Scott and Nellies sister - Sarah Jane White - AT 57 White Road, Quinton, Birmingham.

Nellie died in 1943 and left the house and contents to her son Douglas. In her will she appointed William George Barber of 12 Whitminster Avenue, Erdington (alledgedly her brother) to be the executor to her will.
Her husband John died in 1953 and his daughter Doris continued to live in White road for a little while after his death.

I am trying to trace any living relatives from this family who may have know of or have information about Douglas John Lawler and his family. If anyone has any information, I would be very grateful.

Hi MWS, thank you for responding.

Yes, you are correct. Douglas did marry Zoe Towler, who married again after his death. There were no children from the brief marriage and, unfortunately, Zoe died a few years ago now.
I also found a border crossing record for Thomas, think he may have left his wife Nellie to go to the USA with his mother Mary Lawler. As I sadi, Nellie subsequently remarried - John Scott and lived in White Road, Quinton with him.

The reason for this enquiry is that a researcher in Australia has acquired the flying log book of a member of the crew that Douglas was belonged to. It was a Pathfinder Squadron. Here is a link to the webpage describing the incident....https://aircrewremembered.com/lambert-maurice.html

The researcher is trying to trace the living families for every member of the crew - he has just two left to find. This is where I come in. We have done a lot of research on the family of Douglas - just can`t get down to the last generation. The family has dispersed from the look of things. Just posting here in the hope that someone may have some first hand knowledge of the family.
