Ok mirth over, this is a serious enquiry about my Pratt ancestors in various areas of Birmingham.

My Great-great grandparents John Pratt (a Watchmaker and Jeweller) and Elizabeth Rigby, married in Preston and had 13 Children, the earlier of them (including my great-grandfather) were born in Preston but the following were born in Birmingham.

Josiah, 1866 in Aston
Frederick, c.1868 in Smethwick
Alice, c.1870 in Birmingham somewhere.

Josiah I know went to Canada and was a founding father of the town of Bracebridge in Ontario, but can anyone connect to Frederick or Alice?

Later children were born in London. My Great-great grandfather John, emigrated to Ontario after my Great-great grandmother died, where he helped to found a Church, which still exists today in the Lake of Bays area of Ontario.

Any help in finding connections to Frederick and Alice would be gratefully received....

1881 Census, living at 1 Brading Terrace, Tower Hamlets Road, West Ham, London:
Name Age Sarah A. Garrett 43 Alice M. Pratt 11 Elizabeth J. Pratt 17 Frederick G. Pratt 13 John Pratt 53 Josiah C. Pratt 15 Miriam A. Pratt 16 William H. Pratt 8
John is a watch maker employing 6 assistants
Elizabeth,Miriam born Preston, Lancs:
Josiah and Alice born Birmingham:
Frederick born Smethwick:
William born Forest Gate, Essex. (now part of London).
Sarah Garrett was a visitor, occupation Governess, born Edgbaston, Warwickshire.

That's them - I already have this info but was wondering whether anyone in the Birmingham area could connect to them because I traced them to London, and my g-grandfather into Surrey but the trail goes cold ...

no worries thanks anyway
