Looking For Help.

Guys and gals, not sure if I am in the correct section but here goes.
I see posts on here with sections of old series large scale maps, are these available to joe public, if so where from?
I'm a Clifton Road Aston native lived there from 1943 until 1960 I would like to get hold of a large scale map section that depicts the short length of Clifton road that went from its start with Park Road running down to the Upper Thomas Street intersection. Our house was 10 back of 32.
Can anyone help or advise please.

down to upper thomas street, i cannot myself tell you where to get it publicaly but our dear old friend
and our map specialist may be just may be help you out on that one because he is our map specialist
so if you hang in on here there is a chance he will read it and who knows may be able put a copy upp for you to down load
whilst i think about it dave , you call yourself Dave nut if thats your family name would you be in anyway
relative to the nut family of yester years whom was the old sewing machine sellers from Alum ROCK

I see there is a familyof that name connected to these sewing machine family still around
at the very bottom of Long acre nechells end by cuckoo bridge end
I would be very intrest to know whether or not is there any family tree connections

The maps come from https://www.old-maps.co.uk, and you can view without a subscription, but not down to the closest detail

I knew about the sewing machine Nutts way back but dont know of any close relationship, more than likely there was, its an unusual surname. We had relatives in Kingstanding, Shirley, and I believe some around Erdington. I'm now in South Wales and have a brother living near Cannock Staffs.

I lived in Clifton Road as a nipper....there used to be a chip shop on the right in Park Road ...I think it was Jackson's correct if wrong please...We moved in about 1955.

There was an Ernest Jackson fish shop at 102 Clifton Road, but I can't find any business on Park Road registered to anyone named Jackson or in fact a chippy in the 50's.

I lived at no 1 back of 107 clifton road until about 8. In my mind there was a chip shop owned by a greek family on the left in Park Road...do you recall it ?

On reflection it must have been in Upper Sutto Street on the left... heading for Victoria road.

At 104 Upper Sutton St, next to Hawthorne Place, there was Tom Moore, fried fish dealer

In my book Witton....the fish shop I had in my mind ( the couple walking up the the street eating fish and chips) would be the shop in Upper Sutton Street. The shop on the left of the street. I lived in Clifton Road until I was 8, 1954. We moved to Aldridge. But came back to Brum when I was eleven. We lived at 1 back of 107 Clifton Road. I don't recall a fish shop in Clifton Road...but if there was it was the one in Upper Sutton Street we preferred. I used to go with Mom or Dad to get tasty fish and chips. There was a coal merchant upper Clifton road on the left, I used to go with Mom to get coal in a wheelbarrow. Recall going to the counter where she would pay. You possibly know Mike Alexander the pianist and for some years the musical Director for Shirley Bassey. Lived in upper Clifton Road on the right. I used to bump into Mike now and then in my Opposite Lock days. I went to Upper Thomas Street School infant to Junior by the way.
