Re: Looking for a photo of 510 Green Lane, Small Heath

Good morning, John,
It was on the Bordesley Green side (north) of Green Lane approximately halfway between Third and Fourth Avenue. There's a recently-built carpet warehouse there now. David

Morning David, thank you, I was a barman at the Avenue in the late 50's, Ken and Edna Perry were the licensees.

Ian H,
All I can find out is that it was a shoe repair shop in 1943 run by a man called Ashley.

Thanks David and John, with the help of other kind people like yourselves I have discovered they ran a jewellers from 1919 untill 1931 and then the hardware store untill 1943 when Charles Ashley was there.

Ian
It was a jeweller in 1921 and a hardware dealer 1932, but we don't know how the use of the shop varied in the years between
Mike

Thanks Mike she could have been a hardware dealer for a lot longer then.
