GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
I can't believe I haven't posted in this thread before!

I'm interested in the surname LONGMORE (& LONGMOOR) anywhere, but particularly in the Aston, Birmingham & Darlaston areas.

My own direct line moved from Darlaston to Birmingham around 1800 and has been traced back to 1610 in Darlaston.

Thanks for your kind comments, John. I'm now resident in Crete so it's not very easy to do research from here, but I've still got about ten years worth of Wills to add to the site and am currently working on a page about LONGMOREs in the Arts, starting with a Brum-based one, the singer and actress Marie (Mary) LONGMORE. However, I'm still trying to locate a picture of her and trying to unravel her early life. Watch that space! :)

Hi Wendy,

Sorry this is a bit late, but thanks very much for that!

Kind regards,

Maurice

Friend of mine lives with Tommy Longmore ? used to live in Kingstanding ?

Lloyd: Yes, I'm aware of that one, though I managed to obtain a photocopy of the same piece of music from Cambridge University Library a couple of years ago. Unfortunately it was in the days before they started putting the artistes' pictures on the music. The best I have been able to obtain so far was a fairly unflattering sketch from an obscure publication called "The Liverpool Wasp" in Liverpool Record Office.

Avalon: Thomas is not one of my known relations, but always possible that there is a link in there somewhere!

Regards to you both and thanks for the responses.
