Hi Wildman welcome  Could you give dates and maybe first names, or other info' please?
That will then give us something and a time line to work with.

GReat grandad lived in Trinity road ?? and was a brass filer .Grans brothers were butchers in a westbromwich market .I dont know much about my family background except what was written above and when my dad died all of that history went with him .Lole seems an unusual name and i wondered if anyone new any more about it.As time goes on i,m more and more drawn to finding out more about my past

Hi Wildman.

My uncle Harold and aunt Evelyn had The Antelope on the Stratford Road from (guess) about 1950 to about 1960. Their surname was Cowell. Does this ring any bells with you?

Hi Wildman, Most Lole families seem to originate and live around Foleshill, with a couple in the London, Coventry and Leicester areas.
However try these few from West Brom and B'Ham, do any of the names ring bells :

There may have been more children to the marriages before 1911, however prior to 1911 the mother's name was only available on the birth cert'.
If any of these families are yours someone may be able to help you with the 1901 census and we can then work back.

Thanks Big Gee and Pomgolian for the replies, gran and grandad had the Antelope before i came along in this world (born in Loveday Street)so the name Cowell does,nt ring any bells . Do you have any memories of the pub ,it would be interesting to find out nts ,if M&B have any records dating back this far.

Pomgolian ,thanks for the info its very interesting Thomas LOLE married Florrie ,Thomas i know lived i think at 99 Trinity Road and his dad was called Ceasar Lole who also lived there.
The names below them are also interesting because the Thomas mentioned hear is my Grandad who married Nellie Knowles who was born in 1912 ,i dont know anythink about her parents although i think her father may have worked in India or somewhere, because she always talked about him coming home and not being right.Winifred was Aunty Win who i remember visiting as a kid .
many thanks

To get more info' on the families you may need to send for one, or two of the certificates, they cost 7 english pounds. They will have parents full names, some addresses, ages, and occupations.
