Lieutenant William Rawson

My father, Lieutenant William Rawson, served with the Canadian 1st Hussars in Europe WW2, after training at Sandringham. He was wounded in France or Germany and captured, and subsequently ended up being sent to Marston Green. I don’t know any other details other than I have his army trunk with his name, the number 0-91, and a shipping label affixed saying Canadian General Hospital,
Marston Green, Narwicks.
Can anyone offer some advice as to how I can find out more details as to when he was at Marston Green and any other info I can acquire?

If you use the search button and put in Canadian General Hospital Marston Green there is some information there.

Sorry to be a pest, but I did as you suggested and seem to be in a loop, coming back to your much-appreciated reply to my post. I’m assuming you mean the Search icon in the blue header bar?

Here's a link to the thread I think Tinpot was referring to...

Hope you have found something useful now that you have a link. Thanks to MWS. If you have any other queries I am sure that members on the forum will attempt to help you. Tinpot

My name is Steve Hearn I am a member of the 1st Hussars Association. I am currently working on a book about the 1st Hussars in World War II. I also helped with the Second World War online database of 1st Hussars soldiers. If you you do a google search for first hussars database the first thing that should come up is Azuerwebsites, net Home-First Hussars this will take you to the Database where you will find an entry for William. In addition I have a few lines in my book describing the circumstances around William being wounded in action at May-sur-Orne in July 1945. If you wish to get in touch with me i can be reached at [email protected].
Steve
