GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN R.I.P.
On the shelf
Books sitting closed on the shelf
Hiding all of its learning wealth
Take it down and browse its pages
It will keep you enthralled for ages
Who or how the answers in the book
You only need to have a look
Pictures leap from a colourful page
Or history lessons from any age
Helping you to spell with ease
Books are so easy to please
Fiction or fact on the library shelf
The choices are there to suit your self

I PITY THE MAN WHO HAS NEVER READ A BOOK JOHN.
A MAGIC CARPET TO ANYWHERE.

You have put a lot of thought into this poem John!
In the best books great men talk to us, give us the pleasure of their most precious thoughts. by pouring their souls into ours. Who would want to be without them?

Great poem. I loved it! What an incredible way to look at a topic most of us take for granted.
