Can anyone tell me what happened to G E Lewis & sons (Gunsmiths) of Lower Loveday Street, when they were in business / over what period did they make which guns...?
 
You must do something pretty drastic, I would have thought, to "shopsoil" a rifle
they are made dirty or imperfect by being displayed or handled in a shop, Fingerprints that have been on an un-oiled gun for a long period of time cause corrosion from the acid in the skin oils.
