An older soldier as when killed would have been 47.
The son Charles was killed in action in WW2 and is listed on the Tower Hill Memorial, This meant Ada lost a husband in WW1 and a son in WW2, Both Fred and Ada came from Dover and she seems to have returned there after his death as she is there on the 1939 reg. She died in 1953.
