Help please in finding out more about Lawrence Samuel Alfred Mullins Philpott.

He was born in 1882 in Deal, Kent and was still living there in 1891. I can then find no trace of him until the 1911 census when he was living at 128 Palace Road in Bordesley Green, lodging with the Staley family (Henry John Staley and Ellen Elizabeth Staley).

I believe that after this he also lodged with a Richards family and eventually married one of the daughters, Rose Richards, in 1915. Sadly Rose died in 1920 and in 1921 he married Amelia Rickuss.

Any information on any of the families that would help fill in the gaps between 1891 and 1921 would be much appreciated

Hi andy

I scoured the 1901 Census and found nothing for Lawrence. If this is the one with a brother and sister, James and Louisa, it might be significant that i couldn't find them also, Louisa could have married but would expect to find James as much as Lawrence, sorry.

Hi Bren,

Thanks for searching. I can find him in 1891 in Deal, I can find him in 1911 in Birmingham but where he was in between I don't know

hi there andym and bren,
i have read your threads regarding the philpots and the cold trail now i have thought is it possible for bren to do a family check on the philpots whom lived in selly oak and selly park and they have done for decades now these people are from a london connection and they was the parents of a good friend of mine until they died
there son is called john and he had two sister one was called louise she went back to london to live and only comes up now and then the other one was diane whom also lives in selly park npw she as come back to b.ham rom london
now jack and joan was from london they moved down here in b,ham long before my time oringinaly they had the car busines up at selly oakby the old selly oak before the alterations we have mentioned there car business before onhere
jack philpot was a very well known man in the trade around the periods you was looking for so i thought look john up on the electrol roll for the period of 70-80
and jack and joan with his family should appearsomwhere around there
i think it is greenland rd selly park or the ajoining rd next to selly park rd in fact i think its selly park rd selly park because i i think jack and joan will be related
because of the kids name louise was probable after onr of there grand parents if i see jon in the week i will asked more abot is dad there car business was wighorn garage and its been on pershore rd for a generation or two so he may be listed there i know joan and jack did live above the garage premise at the junction of second avenue and pershore rd best of luck astonian;;;
