Gladdis may is a very unusual name.In 1911 there were only 7 listed on the census:
These were (surnames):
Browswick 2 months Stratton,. Cornwall
Bugg 2 years Ecclesall Bierlow, west riding
Easton 3 years , St germans ,cornwall
Flower 7 years Kings norton
Kenvyn, 6 years Bedwallty , monmouthshire
Mawby 4 years, Walsall
Strauther,6 years, Basford ,Notts.
Obviuously the kings norton and walsall ones stand out , but you will have to subscribe to access further details

the best thing to start with is your dads birth certificate. it will state his fathers name, which you know but also his mothers name and maiden name. :)

Hello mikejee....Re your post #2 - I was curious about the spelling GLADDIS and looked at the 1911 census entries myself. It bought up 7 pages in alphabetical order from Gladdis Abraham to Gladdis Wright. The list included those you mentioned....I'm concerned now and wondered what happened here. Is conflicting information being given out I wonder?

Florence :)

I looked for "Gladdis May", not just "Gladdis". To be honest i thought it likely there wouldn't be any, and was surprised to find the 7.
