Lawley Street was a passenger terminus for the Birmingham & Derby Junction Railway. It then became an important goods depot for the Midland Railway, and their successors the LMS.
In 1994 when Landor Street was being widened to include a new lane of roadway, the excavation work uncovered a length of wall that presumably was from the early days of Lawley Street goods.
