My dear friend Margaret in Erdington sent me this video today. There are many photos I have never seen before on
it. It's approx. 10 minutes in length with some lively music. Thanks to Kevin D for posting this on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTKEjazjUSg
Nice collection of photos, some I had not seen before. I presume the music is the reason it is blocked from showing in an iPad, I had to download and copy it to see it - brought back many old memories....:encouragement:
HI kevin
Firstly i have to congratulate you on down loadin the old pics of brum especialy the tour around brum and yes lIKE many of us
As certanily jogged our mentability of our yester years ; well at least i can say at least mine mind and beleive me my brain is now working over time
more so today than ever ; now i do not want to go on about the thread about snow hill really but i have to say i was correct on my postion of saying that the jelfs cafe was close to snow hill ;station ;and like i said the other day it was at the end of colmore row by the snow hill exit
when you follow that film around the town coming down new street and corporation street i was hoping that it took a turn left into colmore row
as you can see in those days the busses used to run both ways up to the town hall and the council house as i have previously stated the batch of shops
just before you get to the corner of snow hill as you turned into colmore row on your right hand you wold see the bus shelters for all but most of the buss filling up and because the bus shelters cover the view of the shops you could not see the shops slap bang in the middle of that row of little shops they was even the cafe of arthers or georges cafe this was as it said before the fifty period and right up to it i used to go there often and a couple of doors away was a watch seller of all discrptions i had made the mistake on saying the entrance to snow hill when i said later it was colmore row then i know its correct because ypur film confirmed it to me ; when i met the long lost cousin we came out of costa cafe and when you look along towards the town hall she was trying to judge where excactly it was his shop stood but i said abiut twenty yards from the now new entrance to snow hill and the corner and behond she thought it was and i said no becacuse that road as always been there and walking down from the town hall you would have to continue over that rd if you are going to snow hill
and as i said half way pasing that row of bus stops was where is shop was so now i will contact her and tell her to view your video which is brillient and evevidence to me and i know she will be over the moon unfortunelately her side was not heavvy involved like my grand parents with the father nor was her mom and she is slightly years younger but she as abit of info; which she filled me with and a load of pics which she his geting copied for me
but i am truly over the moon with your work and i keep playing your videos over and ove it certainly brought t all back to me of the city of brum
