Larden

Not researching but you may be interested in the first family in Birmingham census
1841 Inge Street (St Thomas)
Joseph age 38 Tailor
Ann age 33
Jane age 14

Joseph says born in birmingham in the census entries but in 1881 living with his son Thomas his birthplace is given as Halesowen,Worcs.
1851
Oxford Street birmingham (St Martins)

Joseph larden age 48 tailor
Ann age 42
Hemry age 11
John age 9
Thomas age 5
Hannah age 7 months

also listed (transcribed William Laff) age 19 but image looks like the first letter S also says son in law but in ealier census that meant stepson so I presume he was Anns before her marriage to Joseph.
Joseph married Ann Staff in 1833

Alberta,Thank you for all that!!
I have the family going back to Joseph born Halesowen, but have not been able to find him on any parish records for Halesowen, a nice guy of rootschat, has looked twice for me, any Lardens in Bham, all decend from Joseph, lots in London! But am stuck on Joseph!!:(

I found a Hannah Lorden in St Martin Parish Records; she was the daughter of Edwin and Sarah who lived in Barn St. Edwin was a coach smith. Hannah was born 18.02.1831 and christened 04.03.1831. As you probably know, the names in these records were often spelt differently so it might be worth looking at.

Harbourne, thank you for that!! I have not found any siblings to joseph James Larden born abt 1805-11, he married 3 times, lucky for me, i got last marriage cert for the 1850s, and it says his father was same name as him, a clerk, curate of Halesowen!! But no trace of them to be found!! Joseph was married 3 times at St philips,in 1827, and 33 and 58, i have the the first two parish extracts, no clues there.thank you for looking for me!!

Sheron have you tried the IGI churches listings? You just go to the area and then the church that you need the records from. I'm sure Halesowen would be there. Good luck, anyway.

Chris
